As women on a journey of self-discovery, we often find ourselves balancing the complexities of human emotions with our desire for spiritual awakening.

Emotional intelligence (EI) is a tool that can help you navigate this journey with more awareness, compassion, and authenticity.
It’s not just about being “smart” with emotions; it’s about embracing them as guides for personal and spiritual growth.

In my role as a self-discovery coach, I’ve seen the incredible transformations that occur when women develop emotional intelligence. It’s a key that unlocks your inner wisdom, allowing you to align more deeply with your true self.

What is Emotional Intelligence?

Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognise, understand, and manage your own emotions, as well as the ability to recognise, understand, and influence the emotions of others. It’s about tuning into the energy of your emotions, responding to life with emotional awareness, and building stronger, more meaningful connections with those around you.

There are five key components of emotional intelligence:

  1. Self-Awareness: This involves understanding your own emotions, strengths, weaknesses, and their impact on others. It’s the foundation of emotional intelligence, allowing you to recognise and manage your emotions effectively

  2. Self-Regulation: This is the ability to control your impulses and manage your emotions, especially in stressful situations. It helps you avoid impulsive reactions and make thoughtful decisions.

  3. Motivation: This is about being driven by internal motivation and enthusiasm, and using your emotions to achieve your goals. It involves maintaining optimism and perseverance in the face of challenges.

  4. Empathy:This is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, allowing you to connect with them on a deeper level. It involves recognising and respecting different perspectives.

  5. Social Skills: This encompasses your ability to build and maintain relationships, communicate effectively, and handle social situations with confidence and sensitivity.
    It involves active listening, clear communication, and conflict resolution.

The benefits of emotional intelligence extend far beyond feeling good. A soulful reflection on what it means to truly feel joy and how to cultivate it from within.

A Moment of Reflection

There was a moment a few years ago that stirred something deep in me.
I was asked a simple question: “What makes you happy?”

Without hesitation, I responded, “My children.” It was a heartfelt, instinctive answer—because they are my joy, my teachers, my heart.

But the reply I received stayed with me: “That’s a big responsibility to place on someone else.”

At first, I felt misunderstood. I wasn’t saying they caused my happiness—I was acknowledging the joy they bring into my life. Yet, this moment cracked something open. It invited me into a deeper reflection:

What is happiness, really? And where does it come from?

Understanding Happiness

As a spiritual teacher and Licensed Thrive Factor Archetypal Coach, I’ve come to understand that happiness is not a fleeting emotion or a state we reach once life is perfectly arranged.

Happiness is a cultivated way of being. It is rooted in meaning, connection, presence, and alignment with the self.

From a psychological standpoint, happiness includes:
– Pleasure (simple joys and experiences)
– Engagement (being fully immersed in life)
– Relationships (authentic connection)
– Meaning (a sense of purpose)
– Achievement (small or large progress)

From a spiritual lens, happiness is a soulful remembering—a return to our true essence. It’s the deep inner peace that arises when we feel connected to ourselves, to something greater, and to the present moment.

The Problem with Outsourcing Our Happiness

So often, especially as women, we’re taught to associate our happiness with roles we play or the people we care for. While love and relationships are vital, placing our entire sense of fulfillment in the hands of others can leave us feeling ungrounded, reactive, or lost when circumstances shift.

True, sustainable happiness begins within. It is our birthright. And it is something we can learn to nurture through daily practice.

Your soul signed up for specific lessons, initiations, and awakenings.
Your healing, your blooming, your becoming—it all unfolds in perfect divine timing.

Remembering the Truth: Everything is Consciousness

There’s a sacred truth I return to often—one that continues to deepen the more I walk this path of spiritual embodiment and feminine awakening:

Everything is sentient.
Everything is alive.
Everything is consciousness.

This includes the trees you pass on your morning walk, the wind that brushes your skin, the emotions that rise and fall within you, and the words you speak. Every aspect of creation is infused with Source—the infinite intelligence, the divine creative force that births and animates all life.

We Are Not Separate from the Universe—We Are the Universe

There is no true separation between you and the stars above.
No division between your soul and the heartbeat of the Earth.
We are not in the Universe, we are the Universe—expressing itself through this beautiful, temporary human form.

When we begin to live from this embodied remembrance, something magical happens.
We soften. We open. We begin to approach life with reverence.

And we begin to understand the incredible power we hold.

Your Thoughts, Words & Emotions Are Frequencies

Everything you think, feel, and say carries a vibration. A frequency.

I often experience intuitive “downloads”—those spontaneous surges of clarity, divine insight, or creativity that feel as though they’ve been dropped into my awareness from another realm.

And often, they are simply a deep knowing that lands in my heart.

You Are the Vessel

You are not here to chase truth outside of yourself.
You are the vessel through which truth flows.

When you allow yourself to be still…
When you listen to the whispers of your intuition…
When you honour the sacredness of your thoughts, words, and emotions…
You begin to align with the vast wisdom that’s always available to you.

And from this space, your life transforms.
You become the living embodiment of Source.
